Hamburg, 3 February 2026 – Julius Blum GmbH, a global leader in furniture fittings, is adopting the industrial software platform Cybus Connectware to drive the targeted digitalization of its manufacturing processes – with the goal of achieving productivity increases, efficiency gains, and sustainable quality assurance.
As part of a multi-stage selection process, Cybus impressed with its technological excellence, high degree of automation, strong scalability, and a collaborative, expert-driven implementation approach. The long-term partnership includes the implementation at Blum’s headquarters in Vorarlberg as well as a global rollout across a total of five production sites.
The starting point of the collaboration was a clearly defined use case in production: automated length correction on high-volume profiling machines for drawer runners. Previously, the high complexity of interfaces between the shop floor and IT posed a significant challenge to automation. Cybus Connectware now serves as a central data hub, enabling bidirectional data exchange across five to six different systems.
“This use case is essential to our value creation. The automation delivers significant cost savings while ensuring our high level of precision at maximum throughput,” says Philip Greber, Head of Control Engineering for Primary Production.
This application enables measurable efficiency gains, improved process reliability, and enhanced quality – and marks the first-time automation of machine setup in a core production process. It thus creates the economic foundation for further expanding the infrastructure, which will serve as the basis for scalable, cross-site use cases in the future.
In addition to the technical capabilities of the solution, close collaboration during the initial project phase was a key success factor for Blum. In an iterative process, not only was the first use case validated, but a Unified Namespace (UNS) and automated data processing were jointly established.
The scalable architecture model of Connectware now forms the foundation for the global rollout: A central instance in Vorarlberg manages lightweight deployments in four additional plants. This centralized control enables stable operations across international sites and, thanks to the platform’s high degree of automation, can be efficiently operated by just two full-time employees.
Blum has deliberately chosen a best-of-breed strategy to ensure long-term flexibility and integration capability within its IT landscape.

In the coming months, the platform’s capacity will be gradually expanded. Additional use cases – such as energy monitoring – are already in planning. Through this partnership, Cybus further strengthens its presence in the international industrial landscape: Blum is another globally operating customer that is adopting Connectware as its strategic data infrastructure across the entire organization. The platform is not only being used in day-to-day operations, but also serves as a scalable foundation for a wide range of future applications – across countries and production sites.
The software company Cybus specializes in data integration for large production environments. The software solution Connectware is specifically developed for enterprise companies that want to efficiently integrate complex manufacturing environments and reliably manage data flows. The solution offers efficient integration and production-critical reliability through highly available and low-latency data streams. It supports a scalable and unified architecture across multiple factory sites. With Cybus, globally active companies such as Miele, Liebherr and KRONE are improving the efficiency and sustainability of their production processes.
