Senior Node.js Developer (m/f/d)

With our team of over 20 people, we are no longer a start-up, because we consist of IoT experts, experienced programmers and former CEOs of global corporations and, of course, young savages who are changing the world with us. Since 2015, we at Cybus have been giving the terms Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT a face. 

Can you imagine having the opportunity to bring life to every shop floor with Cybus and our software? Hundreds of machines send their data in a standardised language with just one click, factory workers know at an early stage where there is a problem in production and machines speak to their human colleagues on the phone.  

Our IIoT Edge Application Platform collects, unifies and delivers data on-premises: security and independence is our top priority. That’s why our customers control themselves which data they pass on to their own or a third-party software stack. Through predictive maintenance, MES integration or even digital twins and zero downtime, the machine data provided will lead our customers to Industry 4.0 and new business models such as smart services.

All this is made possible because of you! Our software will soon be a necessity. We therefore need support in our customer projects so that this world innovation continues to offer our customers added value!

Your role

We need personalities who are willing to apply their technical know-how professionally and, above all, operationally and creatively.

We are looking for a Senior Node.js Developer (m/f/d) to complement our agile development team. We are looking for creative enthusiasts who can tackle frontend/user experience, backend, data processing, connection of machine protocols, security, IT integration, deployment processes, and/or quality assurance with a high level of personal responsibility.

If necessary, you also don’t shy from customer contact and can put yourself in the needs of the user.

Our software team:

  • uses modern Javascript as core technology for backend and frontend.
  • works microservice oriented, with the help of Docker.
  • uses Continuous Integration (Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins).
  • is organised in sprints with plannings, product demos and retrospectives.
  • works as a real team with review processes and pair programming sessions.

  • Further education and training – How does it work differently? We are in a new and unknown market, “discovering new things” is a passion for us.
  • Remote work? We can do that too. Depending on the situation and your location, we still have a few days of analogue work with colleagues.
  • If you work a lot, you also need to relax and take time for yourself. We allow ourselves 30 days’ annual leave for this purpose.

What you should have in your suitcase:

  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js.

  • Very good understanding of Test Driven Development & Clean Code.

  • The ability and the need to implement elegant, durable solutions.

  • Very good understanding of Linux, Docker and networks.

  • Structured and independent approach to troubleshooting.

  • Curiosity, creativity and interest to internalize new technologies (e.g. MQTT, Go, Erlang).

  • Good knowledge of German and English.
