Cybus Connectware Release 2.1.2 – S7+ Support, OPC UA Enhancements and Performance Boost for Large-Scale Deployments

The latest Cybus Connectware release is here to take your manufacturing connectivity further. Version 2.1.2 introduces native support for the Siemens SIMATIC S7+ protocol, expands capabilities for OPC UA complex data types and strengthens system stability through further optimized data resilience and proactive engineering.

For our customers, this release is about more than supporting a new protocol – it’s about the peace of mind that comes with a highly available infrastructure. By working closely together, our Engineering and Customer Success teams have implemented specific optimizations that significantly increase reliability during system startups and under high-load scenarios.

The Highlights of Cybus Connectware 2.1.2

1. Full Support for Siemens SIMATIC S7+

Integrating Siemens assets and systems just got a lot easier. Connectware now natively supports the S7+ protocol, allowing you to access modern SIMATIC controllers directly. This means less architectural complexity and a massive boost in data transmission performance.

  • Unrestricted Data Access: Bypass the throughput limits which are often encountered with integrated standard servers and unlock your hardware’s full data potential.
  • Symbolic Addressing: You can now reference PLC memory using human-readable names instead of struggling with hard-coded offsets.
  • Comprehensive Data Support: Get full read and write functionality for scalar values and arrays, covering DINT, INT, UInt, UDInt, USInt, REAL, BOOL, BYTE, CHAR and String.

2. Advanced OPC UA Capabilities

Industrial data modeling is getting more sophisticated every day. With endpoint support for OPC UA complex data types, our Protocol Mapper handles advanced data structures with ease, opening up even more use cases for your shop floor. We’ve also bolstered overall OPC UA reliability and more efficient server communication.

3. Performance Boost for Large-Scale Deployments

We’ve fundamentally redesigned the system state protocol, which is now managed by a centralized microservice. This means:

  • Service-Level Tracking: You get better monitoring and performance for large, enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Efficiency: We’ve optimized resource deviation tracking, cutting traffic significantly and increasing accuracy when the load is high.

Why This Update Matters

This release is a clear promise: we listen and we act fast. While previous versions brought essential new features to your network, the subsequent patches in 2.1.2 ensure those features run with rock-solid stability in any environment.

Version 2.1.2 is available now for all customers.
This release includes an optional step to reclaim disk space from old resource buckets.
