About the role as Senior Technical Product Manager (gn)

Position and tasks

As our Senior Technical PM, you own the “Core Reliability & Connectivity” roadmap, acting as the primary bridge between our engineering team and business stakeholders to ensure our platform remains industrial-grade while delivering scalable value.

  • Bridging the Gap: Translate complex technical challenges (e.g., Refactoring, Security, Protocol updates) into tangible business value and integrate them into the official roadmap.
  • Technical Discovery: Collaborate directly with the Lead Software Architect and Agile Delivery Lead to specify requirements for high-tech features (OPC UA, MQTT, Container architecture).
  • Process alignment: Re-establish sync between Product and Engineering by moving from “pull-when-ready” to a reliable planning cadence (together with the Agile Delivery Lead).
  • Risk Management: Balance “Feature Hype” against “Technical Debt” to prevent platform instability.
  • Backlog Ownership: Take full ownership of the technical backlog to ensure engineers work on agreed priorities.

Your profile

Qualifications and skills

  • Technical Background: Degree in Computer Science OR previous experience as a Developer/Solution Architect (mandatory). You must understand APIs, Docker, Kubernetes and Architecture.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Product Management for B2B Software, ideally in Industrial IoT, Edge Computing, or Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, S7) and message brokers (MQTT/Kafka).
  • Mindset: Ability to challenge Engineering decisions on a technical level while maintaining a collaborative relationship.
  • Language: German language is mandatory (C1/Native), English fluent.

Bonus points for

  • Experience with Azure Marketplace / Cloud Integrations.
  • Background in Cyber Security (IEC 62443 awareness).
  • Experience in transforming “Waterfall/Pull” setups into agile workflows.
