What is MTConnect (SHDR)?

SHDR is the underlying protocol of MTConnect, a standard which implements the communication between an MTConnect Adapter and MTConnect Agent. Its purpose is to standardize communication between machines, controls etc. and software applications from varying manufacturers.

What is MTConnect (SHDR) used for?

The MTConnect Adapter is running on the machine or device and translates data to SHDR while the MTConnect Agent is usually running on a separate device or server, aggregating and serving the data.

MTConnect (SHDR) implementation with Cybus

In situations where no MTConnect Agent is available, you can directly hook into this communication with Connectware. The protocol is read-only and reports all process data of machines including conditions, alarms and events.
