An exciting SPS 2022 – Smart Production Solutions – is behind us, time for a review. Once again, the complete spectrum of smart and digital automation was on display at SPS. From sensors to intelligent solutions, from what is feasible today to the vision of a comprehensively digitized industrial world. Cybus was there.

At this year’s SPS, Cybus focused on successful digital rollout projects and on connecting the entire process chain. Cybus Connectware, the Factory Data Hub for the fastest rollouts, generated great interest among the expert audience.

For three days, our visitors learned how they can integrate their production and IT with Connectware. This central data infrastructure then allows them to roll out digital projects quickly and independently.

Keynote by CEO Peter Sorowka

Industry 4.0 Beyond Pilots

Die Keynote von Peter Sorowka, CEO von Cybus bei der SPS 2022

As the first highlight of the event, our CEO Peter Sorowka presented the decisive factors for the digital transformation of factories and asked the numerous audience members:

“Why are we digitizing?”

The clear answer: Waste and flexibility. Waste in the form of scrap, energy, production errors, quality defects. Flexibility in the form of individualization, technological development cycles, plannability, responsiveness.

We are meeting these challenges with transparency and modularization. Looking beyond our own horizons, we can say: All the digital technology has long been available and is ready for use. The following points are of great importance for a successful digital transformation:

  • An organization that promotes agile working
  • Build-in scalability from the start
  • All systems, processes and connectivity need standardization and harmonization for enterprise-wide rollout

How edge infrastructures enable the connection of the entire process chain

On the second day, Danny Rybakowski, Head of Partner Management, showed how edge infrastructures enable the connection of the entire process chain. He provided exciting insights into the success figures of a well-known customer from the automotive industry.

Initially, the CIO was put off by his company’s large-scale digitization initiative. As the person responsible for the secure flow of all IT operations, how can he avoid being the bottleneck for numerous planned use cases?

With the introduction of Connectware as a Factory Data Hub, IT could act as a data provider and serve the data needs of all stakeholders. This way, IT only has to manage one solution and can centrally control all data traffic.

“Hi everyone, today –
WE changed the game.”

Customer quote – Automotive industry CIO

This success was made possible, among other things, by the consistent use of an edge infrastructure and Industrial DevOps methods. This enabled the customer to implement digital initiatives locally in the factories and use the resulting data globally for the entire process chain.

Meet & Greet with CTO Jasmin Skenderi

Global rollouts in smart factories

During the expert dialogue, our visitors exchanged views with our new CTO Jasmin Skenderi on current topics such as factory-wide rollouts, edge infrastructures and the future of smart factories. A clear focus on stability and quality with continuous technical innovation is Jasmin Skenderi’s claim and mission for Connectware as well as for the entire Cybus team.
