Industrial IoT solutions and data management // Data integration for smart manufacturing // 10 years anniversary // St. Pauli Stadium in Hamburg // Success story: From Hamburg startup to industrial IoT market leader
Hamburg, June 30, 2025 – Cybus, a leading provider of industrial IoT solutions, celebrated its tenth anniversary at the St. Pauli Stadium on June 26. Since its foundation in 2015 by Peter Sorowka, Marius Liebmann and Pierre Manière, the company has established itself with its “Cybus Connectware” software for industrial data management at leading manufacturing companies. The software meets the highest requirements for data availability, scalability and flexibility in business-critical production environments.
The celebrations were held with customers, partners, investors and employees in the 1910 wine bar in the FC St. Pauli Museum. The founders gave personal insights into a decade of technological development. In addition to the team, customers and partners such as Capgemini, TeamViewer, MHP, NTT DATA and Hamburg Startups were invited. A subsequent get-together provided an opportunity to network.
Cybus was founded in 2015 with the aim of providing scalable data infrastructures for manufacturing. After initial success in the mechanical engineering and SME segment, the company strategically entered the enterprise segment in 2023. Today, companies such as Liebherr, Krone, Porsche and Handtmann rely on Connectware to integrate production data in real time – in brownfield and greenfield environments.
An important milestone was the Series A financing under PwC Germany and the subsequent participation of TeamViewer. Since 2024, a high-caliber advisory board with Holger Heinen as Chairman, Oliver Steil (CEO TeamViewer), Felix Reinshagen (CEO NavVis) and Robert Gallenberger (Matterwave Ventures) has also been actively supporting the company. At the same time, an Industry Expert Council with renowned personalities such as Arnd Zinnhardt (former CFO Software AG), Ralf Dieter (former CEO Dürr AG), Henrik Schunk (VDMA) and Ralf-Michael Franke (former CEO Siemens Factory Automation) advises the strategic development of the company.

Cybus relies on an international ecosystem of technology and service partners to enable holistic smart manufacturing. Integration partners such as Capgemini, NTT DATA, MHP and Maibornwolff offer Connectware as a central infrastructure component. Technology partners such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Siemens ensure an end-to-end data flow – from the edge to the cloud. The partner ecosystem guarantees users and customers rapid success and long-term investment security.
“Anyone thinking about industrial digitalization in a truly scalable way cannot ignore Cybus – its solution closes a key gap in modern manufacturing IT architectures.”, Oliver Steil, CEO TeamViewer.
“Cybus combines in-depth IT expertise with a sound understanding of industrial requirements. That’s a combination which gets to the heart of current digitalization challenges and makes Cybus a key player in the European industrial tech market.”, Arnd Zinnhardt, former CFO Software AG.
Cybus is pursuing the goal of driving the transformation to software-defined manufacturing. This will enable factories across all locations to take control of their data streams in order to produce more efficiently, flexibly and sustainably. Cybus is thus positioning itself as a European innovation leader for industrial data infrastructures and as a strategic partner for the digital transformation of manufacturing companies.
“We recognized early on: Production data is the key to transforming the industry. Today, this vision is a reality, with ever-increasing data requirements for AI, compliance or productivity. With Connectware, we enable leading manufacturers to independently manage their data flows for these use cases. Our thanks go to our customers, partners and the team. Here’s to another ten years of innovation!”, Peter Sorowka, CEO Cybus.
The software company Cybus specializes in data integration for large production environments. The software solution Connectware is specifically developed for enterprise companies that want to efficiently integrate complex manufacturing environments and reliably manage data flows. The solution offers efficient integration and production-critical reliability through highly available and low-latency data streams. It supports a scalable and unified architecture across multiple factory sites. With Cybus, globally active companies such as Miele, Liebherr and KRONE are improving the efficiency and sustainability of their production processes.
