What is near real-time data?

Technically, real-time data is outdated at the moment of sampling. However, when network latency and distribution processing is kept to a minimum, it is called near real-time data. The loss of time can be achieved through different measures, usually applied directly at the edge of an Industrial IoT infrastructure.
